Basic Payment Scheme

Fergal Boyle is an approved agent for the online completion and submission of the annual BPS application on the DAFM. Online system. We also provide advice for Basic Payment to do the BPS entitlement transfers. Also we give advice for Areas of Natural Constraint (formerly Disadvantaged Area), Young Farmer and National Reserve scheme.

Agri - Environment Schemes (GLAS)

Fergal assisted many clients to access this scheme by discussing the options available and then tailoring their application accordingly. We have completed and submitted applications for clients in GLAS 1, GLAS 2 and GLAS 3 and have also overseen the preparation of the associated Nutrient Management Plans as required.

Beef Data and Genomics Programme (BDGP) Carbon Navigator

The Beef Data and Genomics Programme (BDGP) is the core support to the Irish suckler herd as it targets production and environmental efficiency. The BDGP aims to improve the genetic merit of the beef herd to further develop the sector.

Beef Environmental Efficiency Programme – Suckler (BEEP-S)

The BEEP-S Programme, with a funding provision of €35m in 2020, will target weaning efficiency of suckler cows and calves, by measuring the live weight of the calf at weaning as a percentage of the cow’s live weight.

Beef Exceptional Aid Measure (BEAM)

The Beef Exceptional Aid Measure (BEAM) gives temporary financial aid to beef farmers in Ireland. Applicants commit to reduce the production of bovine livestock manure nitrogen on the holding by 5% for the period 01 July 2020 to 30 June 2021 as compared with the period 01 July 2018 to 30 June 2019.

Cross compliance records

Cross Compliance involves two key elements: A requirement for farmers to comply with 13 Statutory Management Requirements set down in EU legislation on public health, animal and plant health, animal welfare, and the Environment. A requirement to maintain the land in good agricultural and environmental condition.

A Farm safety risk assessment is a systematic procedure for identifying and managing hazards. It encompasses a thorough examination of the entire work environment, processes, and equipment to determine any hazard to the health of the employees in the short or long term and implementing remedies.

Quality Assurance Schemes

Quality assurance (QA) schemes for fresh produce are designed to enable producers to demonstrate that their on-farm practices allow them to produce safe food products that meet food safety standards. 

Beef Finisher Payment (BFP)

The Beef Finisher Payment (BFP) scheme is a one-off, exchequer funded grant aid scheme under the COVID 19 State Aid Temporary Framework. The objective of BFP is to provide support for beef finishing farms in Ireland.
